Join us on the 9th of May for an exciting night of up-and-coming independent artists. South coast artist Charlie Smith travels to Leeds on his '50 beer and breweries tour' 2025 May tour, putting together a line-up filled with local talent. Let's celebrate local talent and have a beer (or drink of your choice) together.

Charlie Smith

My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I'm Charlie Smith a raw, honest, singer-songwriter from Hampshire, UK. I host and perform at my own shows at venues such as the Railway Inn, The Attic, and Crosfield Hall. In October 2023, I embarked on my first solo tour of northern England, performing in Leicester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Stockton. My most recent 'DIY Tour 24' was built around showcasing local musicians and took me along the south of England (Brighton, Portsmouth, London, and Southampton). The 3-track single 'God Doesn't Hate You' Recorded on a Zoom R8 is my first release of 2025 marking an adventure back into lo-fi recording. Using nothing but a portable recorder, its microphones & effects, proved a welcome challenge. What the three tracks lack in polish they make up with creativity. It proves that even with limited studio equipment you can make music.

HerOrangeCoat

Hailing from West Yorkshire, HerOrangeCoat is a definitive example of the sum being greater than the parts. Her music - original, soulful and heartfelt - is a beguiling mixture of her life experiences to date. Her lyrics are hard-hitting, topical and eloquent, showing off her rich vocals, reminiscent of artists such as Joni Mitchell. Armed with her ukulele, she crafts songs that show a remarkable ability to turn melancholy into an enticing musical journey.

Tim Dawtry and the Liberators

Tim Dawtry is a Leeds-based singer-songwriter who combines smart-arse wordsmithery with fiery guitar skills. His songs cover everything from interplanetary romance to social commentary to striving to achieve spiritual transcendence at an out-of-season seaside resort. He is blessed to be backed up by the supremely talented and musically intuitive Liberators on bass and percussion.

Kayleigh Thorn

Kayleigh Thorn is a singer-songwriter based in Leeds. With influences ranging from Amy Macdonald, Lucy Spraggan and Olivia Dean, she has crafted a unique indie folk-pop sound that captivates listeners with her honest, raw, and autobiographical lyrics.
