About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Trish is a mother and rugby player for Bath Rugby Ladies, whilst also working full time in the music industry. She returned to playing 6 months postpartum and is passionate about raising awareness of mums playing sport, particularly rugby, and advocating for rugby clubs to provide welcoming spaces and environments to encourage women and girls to connect with the sport. She is the founder of a community group called ‘Mums Who Play Rugby’ where women share their stories and experiences of juggling playing rugby with parenthood; with over 200 members from across the world it has become a great space to connect and learn about lived experiences from other mums. With the Women’s Rugby World Cup coming to the UK this year and Bristol being a host city for the quarter and semi-finals it’s a brilliant opportunity to learn more about the sport, and what makes it so special to so many people.

By coming to Trish’s talk, you will:

  • Learn about training whilst pregnant and postpartum
  • Hear about how she balances playing for a championship rugby side with full time work and motherhood
  • Connect with other women in Bristol with similar interests
  • Have a Q&A with Trish at the end

** Please note that this event is open to individuals who identify as women and non-binary people who feel this event will benefit them.

Organized by

Bristol Women’s Voice (BWV) is a powerful voice for women working to make women’s equality in Bristol a reality through campaigning, connecting and celebrating.

We make sure that when key decisions are taken in Bristol, women’s voices have been listened to and their ideas and concerns acted upon. We will bring together women to share ideas, exchange experiences, support campaigns and events and celebrate success so that together we can make Bristol a showcase for women’s involvement, empowerment and equality.
