Sasan Sahafi Bio
Sasan Sahafi is a London-based artist whose abstract kinetic sculptures integrate movement, light, sound, and audience interaction. Rooted in an exploration of social mechanisms, his work draws inspiration from psychology, philosophy, anthropology, science, and technology.
With a background in architectural design, Sasan transitioned to a full-time art career five years ago. His sculptures are defined by their dynamic interplay of geometry, space, and motion, inviting viewers to engage with them and uncover hidden meanings through interaction. The kinetic nature of his work bridges past, present, and personal visions of the future, fostering an evolving dialogue between the artist, the viewer, and the artwork itself.
His sculptures incorporate diverse materials and custom-built mechanisms, meticulously crafted to embody his artistic vision. Having lived across different cultural and political landscapes, Sasan explores the role of individuals within societal structures—an ongoing theme deeply embedded in his practice.
His curre solo exhibition at The Not For Sale Gallery, “Nomadic Thought: Powerscape,” features three large-scale sculptures that examine power dynamics from primal instincts to complex social systems.
Designed to be interactive, these works invite viewers to participate in shaping new narratives and interpretations, transforming the experience into a collaborative artistic exploration.
Sasan Sahafi's work invites contemplation and interaction, offering a profound exploration of the human condition through the lens of kinetic art.
