Join your host Quinn for inclusive LGBTQ+ karaoke at Pride Place!
Inclusive karaoke has five rules:
- You don’t have to be able to sing to be good at karaoke - you just have to love the song you’re singing. The more you love the song, the better you’ll be.
- Respect the singer. It takes courage to come up here and all singers need from you is for you to pay attention to them and show them some love.
- You absolutely can sing a song if someone else has already sung it. Karaoke isn’t a competition.
- If a song contains a word that doesn’t belong to you, just don’t sing that word.
- Fuck gender norms. All songs belong to everyone.
7pm til midnight
Doors open at 7pm and we'll start at 7.30pm: your host will tell you how to take part. Please arrive on time to make sure you get your song in the queue! But also if you can only come down later we'd love to see you!
£3 in
Karaoke should be accessible to all so we're setting the ticket price at £3, but if you can't afford that please get in touch and we'll get you on the guest list.
Pride of Place Leeds is a non-profit community benefit society and all your donations go towards making Pride Place the best LGBTQ+ community space it can be, so additional donations on the night are welcome!
Pride Place only has space for 60 people so please pre-book to avoid disappointment! If there are tickets available on the day, we will be selling them on the door too.
BYOB
We will be selling soft drinks and crisps on a donations basis.
Alcohol is permitted at the event but we are not a licensed premises so please feel free to bring your own alcoholic drinks.
If you want to buy drinks on the day, there is a Co-op around the corner that is open until 10pm.
Accessible venue
Pride Place is an accessible venue. For full access details, please see our website!
DIY event
This is our first time running a karaoke event at Pride Place. Please expect some hopefully hilarious mistakes!
