Laura Reznek

Listening to Laura Reznek's music is like being portalled — not away from oneself, but deeper within.
One of those rare musicians releasing work that feels equally personal and timeless, the Canadian-born and UK-based singer-songwriter's new album, The Sewing Room, is a testament to her roots as a multi-instrumental musician and lyrical storyteller across mediums.
Inspired by influences such as Nick Drake and Judee Sill, Laura's latest album accomplishes what few can: it stares grief in the face without being consumed by it. Instead, hardships have a prismatic effect. From grief, Laura finds clarity – metabolizing inevitable loss into a reminder of the precious parts of being alive.
Entropies

Entropies are a cinematic musical project who document human stories through live sound and moving image. Featuring vocals, keys, violin, cello, percussion, they describe their music as a fusion of genres, from ambient pop to neo-classical. Adapting songs they have composed for BBC documentary films, Entropies combine these scores with new writing to culminate in a musical style which unites raw storytelling with enduring melodies. Their most recent project, ‘Songs For Our Land’, partnered with the BBC Our World documentary: ‘Turkey's Earthquake: Those Who Stayed', was performed in a sold out mini-tour in London and Cambridge. Influences include Portishead, Max Richter and Hania Rani as well as folk sounds, most recently featuring songwriting in both Turkish and English, and traditional percussion instruments e.g. darbuka.
Entropies have been featured on BBC Music Introducing and Radio X’s ‘X-Posure’ show with John Kennedy. Supported by Help Musicians and the Bert Jansch Foundation, their debut EP ‘The Harvest’ is to be released in spring 2025, telling the stories of female tea pickers on the Black Sea coast of Turkey.
