Aim: This full day workshop is for those who may have direct or substantial contact with people who may be at risk of suicide, meaning you can make an important contribution to suicide prevention.
This workshop is to support learning and developed by NHS Education for Scotland and Public Health Scotland as part of the knowledge and skills framework for mental health improvement and prevention of self-harm and suicide.
What will I learn:
· To explore the factors that can cause suicidal thoughts and feelings.
· Identify risks, stress and protective factors.
· how to ask questions and have a compassionate conversation about suicide.
· Increase your knowledge about practical and emotional support.
· How to increase safety through the development and use of safety plans.
· Recognise your role in suicide prevention.
