About this Event

Join us for a fun and engaging bird-spotting walk at the Welsh Harp (Brent Reservoir)! Whether you’re coming alone or bringing the family, this is a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, connect with nature, and discover the amazing birds that call the reservoir home.

The Walk

Led by a professional bird expert, this guided walk is designed to be relaxed and interactive, perfect for all ages or experience levels. We’ll explore the reservoir, spotting waterfowl, and other bird species while learning how to listen for and identify them. The walk will be at a gentle pace with plenty of stops for observation and discussion—ideal for anyone looking to develop a love for nature and wildlife!

Please meet at the Relaxing area; Cool Oak Ln, London, NW9 7BH

There is little to no public parking in the area, so please do take public transport. There is bus stop (HH) on the high street which services buses 32,142, and 632 and is just a 5 minute walk to the meeting point.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes, wellies are best due to the couple muddy paths
  • Weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket if needed)
  • Binoculars (if you have them, though we’ll have a few to share)
  • A sense of adventure and curiosity!

Booking & Payment Information

  • Suitable for individuals and families (children aged 5 and up welcome).
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please do not bring pushchairs, they will not be able to fit down some of the paths

We're the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways, because we believe that life is better by water.

Our research shows that spending time by water, whether it be your lunchbreak, daily commute or just a weekend stroll, really can make us feel happier and healthier.

With ever increasing rates of obesity, stress and declining mental health in the UK, we are uniquely placed to make a significant contribution to improving the wellbeing of millions of people. Our canals and rivers run through some of the most heavily populated communities in England and Wales, providing accessible green and blue space where it’s needed the most.

That’s why, here at the Trust, we're working with volunteers and communities across England and Wales to transform canals and rivers into spaces where local people want to spend time and feel better. We know this will bring wellbeing opportunities to millions.

Our work involves not only looking after our waterways, but promoting them widely to the eight million plus people who have waterways on their doorstep so that many more people benefit from our free, accessible and local source of wellbeing.

We have a range of events which you will be able to take part in around your local waterways.
