Event Description:

Let's Walk - Marsworth Reservoirs and Canals : Short Walk for Wellbeing and Families

11am Tuesday 27th May 2025 Duration: 1.5 hours

Start point and end: Marsworth/Startop’s End Reservoirs Car Park (Postcode HP23 4LJ; What3Words reprints.mulled.lanes) next to WatersEdge Café. Car Park cost is £3 for 3 hours, £4 all day.

The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by volunteer walk leaders who are full of interesting information about the local area.

Please join us for a fun leisurely walk along the canal. You'll learn a lot and meet new people!

A led walk starting and ending at Marsworth/Startop’s End Reservoirs Car Park. We will walk up to the reservoirs and along the Grand Union canal. Along the way we will explain how the reservoir and canal system work, and hope that a boat or two comes along so we can see the canal lock operation. There’s also lots of birdlife. This is a very gentle walk, of just over one mile. A great introduction to just being in nature.

Suitable for families with children 10 and able to walk – not suitable for pushchairs or strollers (Parents must accompany their children). Attached is the route. Not suitable for mobility scooters or wheelchairs.

The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining. However with all the fallen leaves the tow path (even if it is not raining) it can be muddy/slippy so stout shoes are really required (stronger than recommended).

Book now

Please book one time slot per person. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for adults and for children from seven years old upwards as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways .

Parents and Guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.

If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite or please get in touch with us to allow another person(s) a chance to take part. Social distancing measures will be in place and all equipment will be cleaned in between sessions.
