About this event
This session is aimed at Parents and Carers and their children.
Standing in the Gap is a UK based Early Intervention mental health charity (www.standinginthegap.uk) working with preschool and primary aged children. We help children and parents to manage the big emotions of fear, anxiety and anger and grief.
Our mission is to support children and families by providing tthe tools to build emotional wellbeing and good child mental health.
Our vision is for every child to be emotionally healthy and flourish.
This workshop uses Solution focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioural therapy principles to help children manage their big feelings. It is aimed at parents and children attending together.

The workshop looks at:
What do we mean by anger, and what's the difference between good and bad anger?
How does Anger make us feel? (including early warning signs and triggers)
What models can help us understand Anger, we look at the balloon and bomb model, which teach us practical ways to stop anger becoming overwhelming.

The session is supported by a really useful resource pack, which contains all the information disucssed in the workshop and gives you laminated resources to support you working with your child. The resource packs come highly recommended

How to book
This workshop is suitable for adults and children.
There is a nominal fee of £5 per family for our workshop tickets. Please purchase one family ticket to log on, irrespective of how many are present.
If paying for a ticket is something that your finances won't stretch to, but the information would be really helpful to you and your family; we do have a number of free places for each workshop.
