Two extraordinary artists, Rumer and Mary Coughlan, come together for a special evening of soul, jazz, and timeless melodies at the stunning Guildhall, Derry.
Rumer – A Voice of Timeless Beauty
Celebrating the 15th anniversary of her platinum-selling debut album Seasons of My Soul, Rumer remains one of the most distinctive and beloved voices in contemporary music. Her breakout single Slow captivated audiences worldwide, earning her comparisons to Karen Carpenter and a devoted following that includes musical icons such as Elton John, Burt Bacharach, and Richard Carpenter.
With heartfelt hits like Aretha, Am I Forgiven, and Goodbye Girl, Rumer’s music blends classic influences with modern storytelling, evoking nostalgia and deep emotion. Her career has taken her from working as a barmaid in London to performing for President Barack Obama at the White House. Her journey has been one of resilience and artistic brilliance, and her live performances remain a mesmerizing experience.
"Seasons of My Soul is such an important album to me and my fans. I’m incredibly proud that it has stood the test of time. I can’t wait to celebrate this special anniversary on stage." – Rumer
Mary Coughlan – Ireland’s Queen of Jazz & Blues
Renowned for her raw, emotional delivery and fearless storytelling, Mary Coughlan has spent nearly four decades captivating audiences worldwide. Drawing from jazz, blues, folk, and chanson, her deeply personal music is both hauntingly beautiful and profoundly moving.
Bursting onto the Irish music scene with her acclaimed debut album Tired and Emotional in 1985, Mary quickly became a household name, leading to international tours and hit songs like Delaney’s Gone Back on the Wine. Over the years, she has continued to break boundaries, with albums such as Sentimental Killer, The House of Ill Repute, and Life Stories showcasing her ability to turn personal pain into breathtakingly powerful music.
Mary’s influence extends beyond music—she has starred in Neil Jordan’s films High Spirits and Breakfast on Pluto, performed at the Sydney Opera House, and even brought her life story to the stage in the critically acclaimed theatre production Woman Undone.
"To hear Mary sing is to be at the core of the human heart." – Velvet Thunder
