About this event

Have you ever wondered why you're told your child is 'fine' at school but they come home frustrated, dysregulated and on the verge of a meltdown?

It could be that they've been working hard to mask their difficulties all day, and may have even resorted to people pleasing, and now they're absolutely exhausted and ready to explode.

If this sounds familiar, it maybe that your child is masking and/or fawning...

Back by popular demand, our webinar on how to identify a child who is masking and/or fawning and how we can best support them; after all it's tricky when what is being reported at home is different to what is being reported at school.

What you will learn:

  • What is the difference between masking and fawning?
  • Why do children mask?
  • Why do children fawn?
  • What is the short and long term impact?
  • How can we identify a child who is masking/fawning in the classroom?
  • What happens if parents are observing a different behaviour at home to what is being observed in the classroom? And what role does 'safeguarding' play in this?
  • What strategies can we use to support children who mask/fawn?
  • The importance of co-production.

If you suspect that your child is masking or fawning then you'll really benefit from coming along, learning more and implementing ways to support them.
