- Meet the Funder: BBC Children in Need - Emergency Essentials Programme
- 1 May 2025
- 9:30am - 10am
Youth Scotland are hosting a series of monthly online events for Youth Scotland member groups to meet different funders. These events will give you the chance to learn about the funds available and get top tips on how to apply for funding for your group. There will be lots of opportunity to ask questions.
If you wish, you can submit issues/questions in advance or just turn up on the day. Youth Scotland will facilitate discussions, provide practical support and signpost you to other help and resources.
You will be sent the Zoom link in your booking confirmation. Please check in your junk folder also for this link.
This month, BBC Children in Need will be discussing their Emergency Essential programme. Delivered by the team at Family Fund Business Services, the Emergency Essentials programme provides items that meet a child’s most basic needs, such as a bed to sleep in, a cooker to provide a hot meal and other items critical to a child’s wellbeing. Our dedicated suppliers work hard to get grant items out quickly to families. Everything is taken care of from – delivery, installation/build (furniture) to recycling of old white good appliances. Emergency Essentials grants aim to alleviate the pressures associated with furniture poverty and the wider impact on a child or young person’s wellbeing.
Please note you are only booking for the event on the date you have selected and not the whole series. There will be one funder featured per month. If you wish to book other events in the series please book these separately. All Meet the Funder events are free for members to attend.
Our funding supports training to be delivered to Residents of Scotland only.
Youth worker training is in high demand – please help us support youth workers to access the training and development they deserve with these simple steps:
- Tell us if you cannot attend more than 24hrs in advance. This allows us to free up the space for another youth worker (many sessions are oversubscribed) and means you will avoid being charged the £25 fee for late-notice cancellation or non-attendance.
- Check you can join with camera and microphone. Our online training is engaging, interactive and discussion-based – not a webinar format. Our members regularly tell us this is better learning and we are confident you will gain more.
- Eventbrite sends you all your information by email. You will receive your ticket at booking and be sent a reminder – with any login details if online – approximately 24hrs in advance. If there are materials and handouts, your facilitator will send these too.
Thank you for using our training and helping us to continue supporting the needs of our members and community-based youth work.
