About this event
Join us on 13th May from 6.30pm for a Walk & Talk in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week. This year’s theme is community, and we’re creating space to reflect on just how vital it is to our wellbeing.
We know that strong social connections can make us feel happier, healthier, and more resilient. Communities offer a sense of belonging, purpose, and support—especially in challenging times. But not everyone has equal access to that support or to mental health care. People from marginalised groups—including racially and ethnically diverse communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent people, disabled people, women and those living with long-term health conditions—often face higher rates of mental health challenges. These can be made worse by stigma, lack of culturally competent or inclusive services, misdiagnosis, long wait times, and not feeling seen, heard, or safe in traditional care settings.
This event is about connection, conversation, and celebrating the communities that support us, while acknowledging the inequalities that still need to be addressed.
All are welcome. Let’s move, connect, and celebrate the power of being together!
