About this event

Join us for a special concert to celebrate Mike Lovatt's Brass Pack album launch. Featuring a unique 25 piece brass orchestra inspired by the iconic 1958 Capitol Records album - Billy May's Big Fat Brass - the Brass Pack performs original arrangements by Colin Skinner.

To whet your appetite LISTEN TO 2 MINUTE AUDIO CLIP

With their impeccable musicianship and energy, the hand-picked ensemble of 25 effortlessly capture the essence of the era, delivering a performance that is both nostalgic and fresh. Drawn from the UK's top virtuoso instrumentalists, they are highly successful in their own right and come from richly diverse backgrounds encompassing jazz, swing, contemporary and classical styles.

Kicking off with a Sinatra overture, the programme includes Miss Otis Regrets, I'm Gonna Live Til I Die, Dindi, I've Got The World On A String and more, all superbly arranged for the group by Colin Skinner.

They are joined by two star vocalists, Louise Clare Marshall and Matt Ford, both utterly steeped in the tradition of this wonderful music, bringing style and sophistication to the stage.

Mike Lovatt is a UK virtuoso trumpeter, recording artist, sought after teacher and Musical Director who is internationally recognised for his wide-ranging stylistic ability.

Renowned as Principal Trumpet of The John Wilson Orchestra, Mike is also Lead Trumpet and Guest Conductor of the BBC Big Band.

He is featured as soloist on many film and TV scores including Walt Disney's Snow White, Netlix's The Crown, Marvel's Avengers Endgame and the Judy Garland biopic, Judy.

As an extra bonus, all audience members are warmly invited to stay and socialise with the Brass Pack musicians after the performance.

Places are limited, so book soon to avoid missing out on this extraordinary, one-off event.
