Legendary British singer-songwriter Ralph McTell will embark on his most extensive tour of Ireland to date in 2025. As a stalwart of the folk scene for over five decades, McTell’s music continues to resonate with fans of all generations.
With 2025 marking Ralph’s 80th year, this tour represents a milestone not just in his life, but in his extraordinary career. Composer of the Ivor Novello award winning, international hit song ‘Streets of London’, McTell is still passionate about performing and views this tour as a celebration of longevity, artistry, and the continued love for live music.
Reflecting on his upcoming dates, Ralph shares:
"I have been doing shows in Ireland for many years. Firstly in Belfast in 1969 and later in Dublin, eventually getting around the whole country, but it has taken a while to do a national tour. In 2025, I shall be undertaking my biggest and most comprehensive set of dates around Ireland ever. My 2023 tour was hugely enjoyable, and 2025 is going to be a real celebration. I’m looking forward to it already."
‘Time Drift of the Road’ promises to be a moving celebration of both life and song.
Mairead Carlin
You’d be forgiven for thinking that after all the success she experienced during her time as part of Irish touring phenomenon Celtic Woman that Mairead Carlin would be taking it easy.
That’s not Mairead. While it takes character and guts to go solo at the height of a group’s popularity, after a Grammy nomination, five albums, three TV specials for PBS/Sky Arts, and becoming six times winners of Billboard World Artist of the Year, that’s exactly what Derry’s Mairead Carlin has done. Following the call of her intense love for the music she heard around her daily as a child, and reaching back to her roots in traditional Irish folk (her father was a renowned bassist in the Northern Irish town of Derry), with influences far beyond from Sandy Denny to Ron Sexsmith,
Mairead return to Celtic Woman in 2024 for the 20th Anniversary, which saw them perform to sold out theatres all across the world.
2025 will see Mairead join Ralph McTell for his 80th birthday show in Derry, Mairead said, It’s an honour to be asked to perform with an absolute legend, Ralph and his music has always been a big part of my life, A number of years back I recorded my own version of streets of London, I can’t wait to get back home to Derry and I'm very excited to perform in the Guildhall as its such an amazing and historic building.
