Mystery Flights: A Journey Through Wine

As the days get warmer and longer we start to fantasize about typing our 'out of office' messages and it becomes easy to dream of a weekend whiled away in one of Europe's many beautiful cities, for everything from the heady nightlife of Berlin to checking out trendy wine-destination Lisbon. The thrill of booking a mystery flight and turning up to the airport without knowing the destination is just like picking a bottle from our shelves on a whim, and discovering the local cuisine and vinous offering on holiday is one of life's greatest pleasures. Everything from astonishing value table wines in tavernas to iconic bottles in brilliant restaurants can prove a fine opportunity to taste beyond the everyday.

This evening we'll replicate that magical feeling of surprise, by letting you pick a destination and a type of wine out of a hat. We'll pluck a corresponding bottle off the shelf, open it, and see where the night takes us! Will it be a delicious Tokaji with historic significance in hip Budapest or smoky white Priorat in Gaudi's Barcelona? Maybe juicy pizza-ready Sangiovese in Rome or sonorous Gruner Veltliner in operatic Vienna? There's only one way to find out, and that is to buy a Mystery Flights ticket...

Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
