Why not try and new activity in 2025 and join the Dorset Wildlife Trust Nature Journal Club?
Nature journaling is ‘ …the regular recording of observations, perceptions, and feelings about the world of nature around you’. Clare Walker Leslie (journaling innovator and artist).
But we like to think of it as a personal way of discovering nature and deepening your connection to the natural world through words, pictures and numbers, or in any way you want to.
The club is a social space where we aim to feed your curiosity about the world around you and provide a fun way to ask questions and find answers, to make observations and develop skills as an artist, writer or naturalist – or all three!
So if you want to meet like-minded people and rack up those pencil miles, come and join the Dorset Wildlife Trust Nature Journal Club and connect with a community of enthusiastic naturalists and creatives at our regular meet ups.
The best part is that there are no rules! You don't have to be an artist or a scientist to do it, you don't need any experience at all, just a passion for nature and 'a give it a go attitude'.
You can start with just with a sketchbook/ journal and a pencil/ pen or if you're already a nature journaler you can work with all your standard materials.
Club meet ups are usually at Kingcombe National Nature Reserve, but this year we will be venturing out to explore some of the other beautiful places the county has to offer. Please see below for an outline of this years meet up locations.*
If you are interested in joining the club or have any questions please contact centre staff at kingcombe@dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk.
BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
We recommend dressing for the weather, bringing appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing and bringing along a stool or something to sit on as well as your journaling materials.
*All locations are yet to be confirmed with club members and may change at short notice. Please note some of the meet up locations may carry an additional entrance or transport cost.
