Nobody Can Give You Freedom Tour: Birmingham

Malcolm X is one of the most well known but misunderstood figures in history. No he did not hate White people, preach violence and eventually come to his senses and join the civil rights movement. Malcolm had the clearest analysis of racism and proposed a concrete solution. Join us to launch Kehinde Andrews new book and film that undoes the myths and presents the real mission of Malcolm X, 100 years since he was born.

The documentary starts in Birmingham, where Malcolm spoke just nine days before he died, then travels to London and New York, to the place where Malcolm was killed sixty years ago. The film features interviews with Malcom's daughter Ilyasah Shabazz, George the Poet, Marc Lamont Hill and more. We will be running a special preview as well as talking about the book.
