About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

It's back, year 3 of our Noody Dook is coming on the 31st of May 2025.

Join us for Scotland's mass skinny dip! A fundraiser, a personal challenge, a celebration of life, of our own bodies, of nature. This event is about taking a risk, feeling alive and embracing a moment of pure joy and freedom.

The Carnegie Rotary Club Noody Dook, will take place at 7.45am on Saturday the 31st of May for a wee dook in the refreshing water of the Forth. Arrive for a 7:00am sign in and a wee warm-up yoga session with the wonderful Libby from 7.30-7.45 (clothes on for this bit please), before being piped into the water at 7.45

All bodies welcome (over 18 only). Please note that you will undertake this event at your own risk and any health concerns should be discussed with a medical professional beforehand.

Questions and Answers

Do I need a ticket?

Yes, we need tickets for health and safety compliance

Is parking available?

Parking is available on site (there are very limited blue badge spaces) please car share where possible. There will be marshalls on site on the day to direct you to the parking. Parking is free until 9am.

Why do I have to pay?

This is a charity fund-raising event. We charge a small fee to cover some of our costs and the rest will go towards helping Carnegie Rotary Club support brilliant local and international work, you can if you choose to make a pledge this year to support our chosen main charity- Steps to hope. https://www.facebook.com/www.stepstohope.co.uk/?locale=en_GB chosen by our community of dookers and we will make some smaller donations to local charities.

If you want to fund-raise for someone else, that's brilliant- we would love it if you keep us posted.

What about safety?

We will have a life guard and first aiders on site from 7.30-8.45am. Please do not enter the water after this time: if you do so it is at your own risk.

Do I have to be naked?

There is no obligation to be naked, athough it is encouraged. The Noody Dook is a rare opportunity to get naked in nature. However, you do you: feel free to wear shoes, swim gloves, your bobble hat, a wonderful wig, face paint- whatever works for you.

Can I bring my children along?

The short answer is no, for insurance the Noody Dook is an adult only event.

What do I do with my stuff while I'm in the water?

We would encourage you to leave valuables at home, and leave swim stuff on the beach as you would with any other outdoor swim. We will have markers on the beach to help you find your things.

Am I allowed to take pictures?

Again the short answer here would be no- we ask you to respectother dookers. You can of course take selfies and photos of friends but not of the event. We will have professional photographers on site for publicity, who will be in a designated area. They will finish taking photos before people exit the water so that you can do this comfortably.

What if my bum ends up in the paper?

The Media are likely to be present on the day- the only sure-fire way to keep your bum out of the paper is NOT to take your clothes off at a public event at a public beach.

Can I bring spectators?

Absolutely NOT, although we can't prevent members of the public from being in a public space, we respectfully ask you to not bring spectators along to the event.

Are there toilets?

Yes there are public toilets at Silver Sands which will be open from 7am

Is there food available?

We will have a cake stall for that post dook sugar rush. The baked goods will be sold for a donation, so bring along some cash. (Our Patsy's baking is legendary with our dookers, you're in for a treat).

What else?

We advise bringing a hot drink for when you get out of the water and warm loose clothes, that can slip easily onto a slightly damp body, a woolly hat and shoes that are easy to slip on/ off.

Can I help out?
