About the walk:
We are thrilled to be joining forces with Norfolk Wildlife Trust for April’s Netwalk where we will be visiting Foxley Wood for a special guided walk. NWT’s Will Russell will be talking and walking us around the woods.
As the Nature Conservation team's Woods and Heaths Reserves Manager, Will is responsible for 20 sites across Norfolk, based at the Foxley Wood workshop and office. With 20 years of conservation experience, including 5 years at NWT, Will has a wealth of knowledge and will be describing the flora and fauna of the largest remaining ancient woodland in Norfolk during this spring walk.
It also just so happens that Foxley Wood is one of Norfolk’s finest bluebell woods, so if Spring behaves itself, we will hopefully be treated to a spectacular display.
We are very grateful to Norfolk Wildlife Trust who will be providing a toilet and refreshments so all three of my venue requirement boxes are ticked, enabling us to visit somewhere we wouldn’t usually venture for a Netwalk.
PLEASE NOTE: Foxley Wood only allows assistance dogs due to the protected species and habitats at this reserve.
Distance: Approx. 2 miles
Terrain: Footpaths which may be a bit muddy in places. The walk is fairly flat.
If you would like to come along, please pre-register so we can keep track of numbers and get in touch with you should there be any changes to the plan.
