About this event

Whether you’re just setting out, need a chat about protecting your intellectual property, or simply have a brilliant idea you want to discuss, we’re here to help you.

Have a discussion with one of our Enterprise & IP Librarians in a virtual one-to-one clinic or face-to-face (Reference Library, on the 1st floor of Hull Central Library) and find out about the free resources available for you.

We can help you with:

  • Starting a New Business - information and resources to help you develop your business ideas.
  • Business Development - access to resources to help grow your business.
  • Intellectual Property Information - patents, copyright, registered designs and trade marks.
  • Company Databases - identify new suppliers or customers.
  • Market Research Databases - explore and find new markets, and generate ideas for new products or services.
  • Industry Guides - information on specific sectors.

The Registration order form will ask for more information on your business needs.

Once registered the Enterprise & IP Librarian will contact you with a Microsoft Teams link to meet with them, or contact you via telephone.

Please note there is an option for an online or face-to-face meeting (please state your preference once booked).

This appointment will be delivered by a member of staff from Hull Libraries based in the UK. The support and information provided is for UK Businesses only.

Following the event we will send you a feedback form, please complete it as it helps us monitor the success of our events. This is facilitated by our third-party processor; Reason Digital Limited using their Impact Reporting Tool.

In our Business Ideas Clinics, we will not give you legal or business advice. We provide business information and access to resources for you to use to make informed choices to start, or grow, your business. Once you have started your business, we can refer you to a business adviser if you require support.

We can provide you with information on Intellectual Property, but we strongly advise you to consult with a patent or trade mark attorney before proceeding with, using, or applying for Intellectual Property rights. Once we have discussed your Intellectual Property requirements, we can refer you to patent or trademark attorneys for a free 30-minute consultation.
