About this event

Roger Ackling kept detailed personal and professional records throughout his life. His archive contains a wealth of information about his process, working methods and exhibitions. Alongside this are records relating to his early student work, poetry, photography, teaching and travels. A selection of these items are currently on show in our exhibition SUNLIGHT: Roger Ackling.

This tour will give an introduction to the collections of the Archive of Sculptors’ Papers, and allow you to get hands-on with Ackling’s records. We’ll look at how his ideas, processes and inspirations developed throughout his life, with a chance to see sketchbooks, photographs, travel journals and so much more. Exploring Ackling’s archive opens up a whole new understanding of the artist and his incredible work.

Both sessions will feature the same content and cover the same topics.
