Parent and Child Fly Fishing Experience - Season 2025
Do you want to give yourself and your child the gift of spending some quality time together learning a new skill and creating memories?
Fishing offers just the right balance of excitement and relaxation in the great outdoors, and there’s nothing to beat the sense of shared achievement when you settle down to enjoy a freshly cooked fish that you both worked together to catch.
This half day experience is ideal for those who would like to learn the basics of fly fishing in the fantastic scenery of Upper Wharfedale, through working together to hook a fish. It gives you a really enjoyable and fulfilling experience in the great outdoors, while providing all the basic skills needed to enable you to start fly fishing as a family. No previous experience required – all you need is your enthusiasm to try something new.
This course is delivered in a small group of up to 4 participants per coach.
Minimum age for child is 10 years (if you’re wanting a course for an older 16+ child then you can also look at our Introduction to Fly Fishing course but the parent/legal guardian must be a paying attendee).
You will get to take home with you a fish that you’ve caught (prepared for eating) plus an exclusive booklet, a "Get Fishing" certificate for all junior participants, to remind you of the day and the new skills that you have learned. We want you to experience the thrill of getting a fish on the line, so our Parent and Child Fishing Experience focuses a little more on the practical side of fishing and a little less on the theory.
At £180 for one parent and one child, this Fishing Experience makes a great present. You could book two tickets to make it a full family experience for 4 participants. Just contact us at mark@flyzone.life to arrange a voucher or if you would like to bring along more than one child.
Please see our FAQs page below for more information on what you need to bring when you attend one of our fly fishing courses. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us at: mark@flyzone.life
