About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

This is the first of our three events on personal branding for people professionals. The other two are: Why branding for digital media is important for us as people professionals on 17 June and how to engage, inform and inspire any audience on 24 June. You don’t have to attend all.

As Jeff Bezos says “your brand is what people say about you when you are not in the room.” We as people professionals work across all levels of our organisation and often not at the ‘top table’, externally and when seeking new career opportunities in an increasingly competitive employment market. We need to employ the principles of organisational branding to enhance how we present ourselves and engage in our own workplaces. Jane will share some insights on how to do this in her session.

The session will be of interest to both employed individuals looking to develop their personal brand within their organisation as well as to consultants and / or self-employed people to develop their brand for marketing their business to prospective clients.

We are the CIPD Branch in Kent - the professional body for HR and people development. The not-for-profit organisation champions better work and working lives and has been setting the benchmark for excellence in people and organisation development for more than 100 years.

We have a wide range of organisations and CIPD membership and we respond to this with a full selection of CPD and networking opportunities.

Due to the geographical spread of the county we have 3 area groups – Mid Kent, West Kent and East Kent. Between them they regularly hold sessions with guest speakers on subjects requested by the members. Most events are supported by local companies who host the events and provide an opportunity to meet other HR practitioners.

We also appreciate the specialisms within HR and have Special Interest Groups that meet regularly and occasionally have speakers. These groups include Health and Social Care and Senior Practitioners. Similarly we have smaller bespoke groups, Self Managed Learning Groups that operate throughout the county. These include the Coaching Groups in East Kent and West Kent. We  encourage the creation of new groups so if there is not an area covered, why not set one up?

Join our LinkedIn group to connect with other local members, follow us on Twitter, like our Facebook page, or sign up to our emails for the latest news and events information.

Come along to an event and meet our friendly and welcoming committee members and the wonderful HR community of Kent!
