About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join Wild South London for a Wild Walk along the River Pool to identify wild plants and trees, led by our trustees Eleanor, Holly and Rosanna aka @thebromleyforager. On previous spring walks Rosanna has identified 6 different plants in the carrot family, 2 types of sorrel, 7 varieties of fruit/berries, 5 mustards/brassicas and much more! Please note that although we will not be eating or foraging anything on this walk, we may point out and talk about species we have some knowledge of as foragers.

Wild Walks

Wild Walks are free events that invite people to get outside, explore local green spaces and learn collectively about the brilliant biodiversity to be found on our doorsteps. We’ll walk for up to two hours, stopping along the way to talk about things we find or enjoy some quiet time amongst nature. Each walk will be led by a Wild South London trustee, but these are informal and collaborative events where anybody is welcome to share knowledge and expertise or ask questions.

About Wild South London

Wild South London is a community group which aims to raise awareness of local biodiversity and promote conservation and appreciation of nature. Through walks, talks and hands-on workshops, the group will educate and inspire local people on topics such as sustainable foraging and identification of plants, animals and fungi. They will also show people how to record finds to contribute to local biodiversity data - all while promoting the positive health and wellbeing impacts of engaging with nature.

Aims of Wild Walks

  • To introduce people to green spaces in South London
  • To promote the health and wellbeing benefits of interacting with nature
  • To help people meet other like-minded individuals and learn from one another
