Event Description:
The following is an outline of the Lean/ Six Sigma Yellow Belt training provided by AMS Business Consultants. It will enable an individual to be able to successfully apply basic Lean and Six Sigma principles and tools within their business and/or place of work. This training is delivered by a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master/Black Belt. Contents The following topics will be included in the Yellow Belt training.
The topics are grouped in the order of the DMAIC lifecycle project. Whilst this full project methodology will not be trained, the structure will be incorporated to ensure good practice.
• Introduction to Process Improvement, Lean and Six Sigma • Define a continuous improvement operating system and what it means to you, your customers and your business
• Identify and classify 8 wastes
• Understand the key principles of 5S
• How do customers measure a business? Voice of the Customer translation
• Understand Standard Work and flow
• Understand Process Improvement Dialogues’ (PID’s), Key Performance Indicator boards, and the Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) process are and how they will be used.
The knowledge and understanding of each of the topics covered will be reviewed during the training by AMS Business Consultants learning and development team.

Introduction to Lean and Six Sigma
• Understand the differences between Lean and Six Sigma and their origins.
• Understand the objective of systematic problem solving.
• Apply data driven approaches for decision making and Understand Pre work analysis for a business case.
• Recognise the various Six Sigma roles.

• Understand how making problems visible leads to improved quality.
• Be able to apply 5s in your business/working environment.
• Apply visual management effectively

Voice of the Customer and Standard flow
• Understand how to identify business processes.
• Identify Inputs and Outputs of your business processes and undertake high level process mapping.
• Understand how customers view your business processes.
• Gather Voice of the customer and translate into customer needs.
• Prioritise customer needs.
Meet the Trainer Andy Skinner
Andy is one of very few Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belts in the UK. He has proven himself in defining business strategies, programme, project and man management qualities, having designed end to end operating models, improved critical business processes, defined strategies within market leading financial services businesses.
He has won awards for innovation and customer centricity.
Andy has significant experience in implementing continuous improvement training programmes across industry sectors and businesses of varying sizes, from SME’s through to businesses in excess of 2000+ employees.
Having worked on a global, national and local scale, he has the experience to understand what makes businesses successful.
