About this event
- Event lasts 4 hours
Would you read your Teenage Diary to a live audience?
A brave group of LGBTQIA+ adults are doing just that at Queer Diary - the night where queers share our teen angst (and joy, dreams, follies, and fabulousness).
Join a friendly queer crowd for a night of old diary entries, long-lost love-letters, fabulous fanfiction, terrible tumblr posts, and possibly the odd bit of cringey poetry.
We can't promise to reunite you with your first crush, but we do aim to reignite that rush of adrenaline you got when they first noticed you!
How it works:
Queer Diary is hosted by Beth Watson, who will warm up the crowd by sharing some teenage diary entries and chatting to the audience.
Anyone wanting to read a diary (or teenage poetry, fanfic, etc…) can sign up, via this link.
Last minute slots are not guaranteed - sign up in advance to ensure there’s space for you to share something from your youth on the mic.
Timings: Doors open for the audience at 6:30pm, and the event runs ~7-9pm.
There will be a break halfway through, with a throwback playlist for you to enjoy. Chat to the Queer Diary team when you arrive, to request your fave nostalgia song!
Who's It For?
Any LGBTQIA+ adults can volunteer to read something from their youth on the mic (please read the FAQs & sign-up form for more info).
All LGBTQIA+ people and allies are welcome in the audience. Please note this event is themed around memories of teenage years gone by, and is aimed at adult audiences.
Up for sharing something from your coming-of-age era?
The mic is open! Sign up in advance to secure a spot.
