R-CADE hosts a weekly boardgame meetup for anyone to join in, learn new games and make some new friends. Each week staff will choose two different boardgames from the R-CADE games catalogue for the group to learn and play throughout the evening.
Our full games list can be viewed on our website here, and we will announce our game of choice on our socials before each weekly event.
This event has been created for anyone looking to find a fun and inclusive space to enjoy tabletop games with friends, or to make new friends and learn new games. You are not required to join in the meetup at our big cafe table when you arrive, you can even choose a different game from our collection and play with others or by yourself.
If you choose to join in any boardgame activities please note that we have a £5 fee to play the hosted boardgames advertised OR a £3 to play the other games from our boardgame catalogue. Just let our staff know what you would like to do when you arrive.
About the R-CADE:
We are a tabletop gaming and nostalgia cafe / retro video game arcade packed with thousands of games to play, retro toys to enjoy, VHS movies to watch; all complimented with a fantastic menu offering hot and cold drinks, cakes, sandwiches and toasties. Menus can be viewed on our website here.
Our entire venue is family friendly from 12pm - 7pm each day, but from 7pm onwards we are strictly over 18's. ID may be requested when you arrive so please make sure to bring valid age verification along. Information on valid ID can be found on here.
We have reserved 8 spaces for the event, but our cafe can seat up to 15 people so if you are not able to reserve a ticket there may still be space available at a first come, first served basis if you arrive on time.
Please note that we have a fair usage policy in our cafe; a drink and/or snack must be purchased during your visit. Support your local!
If you reserve a ticket but are unable to attend, please make sure to cancel it or contact us so we can offer this reserved space to another person wishing to attend. We have a 15 minute wait for player arrival, after this point you forfeit your free reservation and we may give the space to someone else at the venue. Frequently asked questions
No. Customers under the age of 18 will be permitted to enter the venue after 7pm for any reason, this includes the cafe area. Valid identification may be required at staff discretion. If you do not have valid ID you will not be granted access and no refund will be given.
Corkage fees are as follows and are non negotiable - Up to 330ml: £1 per beverage. 330ml and above: £2 per beverage. Wine and any drink above 12% ABV: £4 per beverage. Spirits are not permitted at anytime. Any non-alcoholic beers and ciders are charged at a flat rate of £1 per beverage.
Our venue is situated on the main road of Saltmarket with parking bays directly outside. Please note that parking prices are quite high and there are restrictions between 4 and 6pm, but parking becomes free after 6pm. Alternative parking is available on King Street NCP car park.
