Join Professional Wildlife Photographer Paul McDougall for a day photographing the cute Red Squirrels and the Impressive Red Kites.

This is a small group wildlife photography workshop, Paul will be on hand throughout the day to help you with your camera settings and leave the day with some truly memorable wildlife images.

This workshop is designed for people who are interested in wildlife and photography.
It is for beginners, so for people who want to improve their wildlife photography and increase understanding of how to use their camera.

The day will be split in to 2 sessions with the morning focusing on Red Squirrels, the objective here will be to use the available light to capture interesting portraits and behaviour. We will also be hoping to capture images of the many woodland birds that frequent the hide.

The afternoon session will be focusing on the Red Kites. The objective here will be to capture eye catching images of the birds in flight as they feed at the hide.

It is an action packed day full of wildlife photography opportunities and fully guided throughout.

Please note that the day includes the cost of the hide booking.

Where Do I meet for this event?

You meet at Argaty Red Kites at Doune in the main car park

Can you provide transport?

I can provide pick up from anywhere around the Glasgow Area for an additional charge.

What will be covered on the workshop?

Understanding Exposure Focus Modes White Balance Composition Exposure Compensation Shooting in Raw Understanding Animal Behaviour Capturing Action shots Photographing Birds in Flight.

What equipment do I need?

A DSLR Camera or Mirrorless Camera. Any make or model is fine. 70-300mm is ideal for the squirrel hide. 300-600mm is ideal for the Red Kites.

What do I need to wear?

Wear something warm as it can be quite cold sat in the hide for a period of time.

If there is time and appropriate for the group we can cover other things. However a private workshop may be of more benefit if there are a lot of additions you would like covered.

No - lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

Yes the cost of both hides is included in the price of the booking.

Paul has lots of experience photographing wildlife worldwide and at home in the UK. Paul is a specialist photographic guide, and has extensive experience guiding in Kenya, with over 400 days spent guiding in Masai Mara.
