Upcoming Dates

Sunday 22nd June - Tickets available to book now
Please bring along a couple of items of clothing to work on and we can offer advice on how to repair or alter them. If you would like to practice some sewing techniques on spare fabrics first before working on your own clothes, we have small pieces available for you to use.
This workshop will mostly focus on hand sewing techniques so you can carry on at home. Common items that we help to repair or alter at our workshops include, patching jeans, fixing holes in knitwear with darning, taking up hems or, taking in a skirt.
We will have sewing kits to use, an iron and ironing board and a range of materials. Please bring along a sewing kit if you have one, we can't provide all materials so if there are any extra trims or fabrics you specifically want to use please bring these along too.
We are a friendly and inclusive group, we invite everyone to share any ideas they may have with others on how we can mend and refashion clothes to combat textile waste.
The workshop runs from 11.30am - 1pm at The Skills Centre Edgware, 158 Station Road, Edgware, HA8 7AW (the old Argos building).
These workshops have been supported by the Edgware Town Centre project, to find out more visit - www.edgwaretowncentre.uk
About The Skills Centre Edgware
The Skills Centre in Edgware offers a gateway to the construction industry for local residents in Barnett through pre-employment programmes, construction bootcamps and apprenticeships. Building on the success of The Skills Centre's sites in Stratford, Southwark and Earls Court, the new North London space will specialise in green construction skills.
Alongside the construction programmes during the week, The Skills Centre will offer accessible workshops in other skills for the local community on weekends.
