Rhône Roots 2025 Wine Tasting

Matt Walls specialises in the Rhône, having written the definitive book on this region, Wines of the Rhône. He is also Regional Chair for the Rhône at the Decanter World Wine Awards and regularly contributes to high-profile titles on this region to share his expertise.

On 30th April 2025 he is hosting a very special tasting for a celebration of the great wines produced in a region containing some of the world’s most recognisable and revered appellations.

Over the past 6 months, he’s been developing what will be one of the biggest and best Rhône tasting events that the UK has ever seen.

It brings together over 50 top producers, all of which are among the best in their respective appellations.

From Côte-Rôtie to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, all the major Crus from both the Northern and Southern Rhône will be available to enjoy, alongside leading estates from satellite appellations, and the very best of the Côtes-du-Rhône – you’ll get a satisfyingly complete vision of this part of France.

Meet the winemakers, savour their products, and listen to stories about their estates, many of which have been in their families for generations.

He has also invited a selection of hand-picked wineries from outside France that are known for their excellence with Rhône grapes, coming all the way from Australia, South Africa, California, Washington… See how their thrilling expressions of Syrah, Grenache and Viognier compare with the originals.
