Have you considered bringing your learners to the zoo? We are hosting our primary and early years colleagues in a free, led CLPL session on Saturday 4 October 2025.
Spend the day discovering how the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland can support learning in person here at the zoo and through our online content, and get dynamic, practical ideas for enhancing your classroom teaching.

10.00-10.30: Registration at the Edinburgh Zoo Education Centre.
10.30-11.00: Welcome and An Introduction to RZSS's Secondary Offerring
11.00-11.45: Workshop 1: "How to Maximise Your Learner's Experience" Zoo Tour
11.45-12.30: Workshop 2: Conservation Activities: Camera Trapping and Snare Tig
12.30-13.30: Lunch (not provided)
13.30-14.15: Workshop 3: Lesson Tasters: Showcasing Aspects of Our Primary Lessons
14.15-14.45: Activity: Design Your Own Zoo Session
14.45-15.00: Plenary
In addition, we are offering discounted tickets so that family members can explore the zoo while you're at this event!
Discounted rates for family members* are:
• Adults £16.95
• Children £7.00 per child
• Students (with valid student card) £8.00
Proof of teacher attendance at CLPL event such as confirmation email will allow access to these discounts.
