Following the success of our Science Summer School and Explorers programmes, we are delighted to introduce Highland Wildlife Park Summer Club for 2025!
HWP Summer Club will run from Monday 28 July to Friday 1 August. Each day is themed, so you and your child can decide which days sound best to you. Join us for one day, or all five- the choice is yours! Each day children will get to explore the park, learn all about our animals, and enjoy our amazing site in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, as well as taking part in themed activities.
Monday: Wildlife Wonders- explore our awesome wildlife garden and experience pond dipping, mini-beast hunts, bug hotel building and more!
Tuesday: Junior Scientist- dip your toes into the world of animal behaviour and try your hand at designing an enclosure, animal observations, and camera trapping!
Wednesday: Creative Critters- join us for a day exploring your creative side, packed with drama games, storyteling, and arts and crafts!
Thursday: Wildlife Wonders- explore our awesome wildlife garden and try your hand at pond dipping, mini-beast hunts, bug hotel building and more!
Friday: Fun in the Sun- a day packed with active games, scavenger hunts, and plenty of chances to visit our wonderful animals!
The day runs from 10.00am to 3.30pm. Early drop off is available for free from 9.30am, and After-School Club is available to book for an additional £5 per day - this runs until 5.00pm and you can collect at any time from 3.30-5.00pm. During After- School Club children will have the chance to wind down after a busy day and watch a film or do some simple crafts.

Please note that while we intend to run two groups (P3-4 and P5-7), if we do not reach the required numbers we may merge the two groups on the day. Additionally, if we do not reach the required numbers to run the programme, we may offer you the opportunity to transfer your space to another day, or offer a refund.
Frequently asked questions
While children will learn all about our awesome animals and visit them at their enclosures around the park, there will be no direct contact with animals during summer school.
Unfortunately we cannot accept childcare vouchers for summer school.
Your child should bring a refillable water bottle, a snack, and a packed lunch. They should also come prepared for any weather and bring a raincoat, sun cream that they can apply themselves, and a sunhat. They should wear something they don't mind getting dirty.
