On this week long course we will cover types of sash windows, types of faults and decay, repair method, suitable timber and materials for repairs, making and installing repair sections, glazing, balancing and recording sashes, retrofitting weather seals and double glazed units. Then finishing work like painting and pointing.

This will be a practical course and you will be working on historical sash windows and learning conservation methods in a workshop environment.

You will need working clothes and safety boots as well as safety glasses and hearing protection.


All tools and materials will be provided as will lunch and drinks throughout the day.
