These courses are strictly limited to 10 attendees in order to maintain the quality and effectiveness of the live online training session. Places can also be booked direct on our website.
Taking 2 hours, this thorough, detailed and fully up to date course is essential for all those involved with managing, reviewing and updating the SCR in regulated educational settings, in line with Ofsted expectations.

The course includes;
- why the SCR should be accurate and the importance of its role in safer recruitment
- the key statutory requirements relevant to keeping the SCR
- who and what must be included on the SCR and in what format (mandatory and best practice)
- the required pre-employment checks for school- based staff, volunteers, contractors and agency workers, and what information needs to be kept
- ID and qualification checking, including assessing the validity of all evidence seen
- best practice and how to review a SCR
Compliant with the latest legislation (including post Brexit changes), government guidance and with direct links to local Safeguarding Partnerships, Boards and Protection Committees across the UK, this course covers the entire safer recruitment process from identifying the need to recruit through to appointment and subsequent induction, training and supervision.
Once completed, each candidate will receive a comprehensive training pack (which includes links to download a current SCR template and other documents) and a personalised and dated certificate, valid for three years.
