Star Wars Paddling Event with Forth Canoe Club

Celebrate Star Wars day with Forth Canoe Club, as the Forth awakens on May the fourth!

If you want to try your hand at doing the Kessel run in 12 parsecs, firing a proton torpedo into the reactor core of the Death Star, or overcoming the dark side of the Forth, all with kayaks, canoes and paddleboards, get your ticket and join the fun.

Who is this for?

Ages 8 – 88. Everyone from young paddle-wans, to Obi Wan Canoe-Bi.

Open to members and non-members at all levels of paddling ability. We’ll be sorting you into mixed ability teams, so everyone stands a chance of getting a Medal of Alderaan at the end of the day.

How to take part?

Just get your ticket and come along in clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting wet in (getting wet is more or less guaranteed, so bring a towel and complete change of clothes and shoes). Star Wars themed outfits welcome, keep it dry for the medal ceremony if you prefer. Everything else is provided, even lightsabres!

We have basic changing facilities and a portaloo. There will be snacks and drinks available.

The cost is £5.

What’s happening?

We’ll be recreating some iconic scenes from Star Wars movies on the Union Canal, with kayaks, canoes and paddle boards as speeder bikes, pod racers, X-wings and even the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon.

Information we require

During booking you must fill in a form, with date of birth, any medical info that the coach should know, and emergency contact info etc. We appreciate it takes time to complete the forms but we have a requirement to provide our coaches with up to date information about the students they will be coaching. Many thanks for giving our coaches the information they need.

DATA USAGE

Forth Canoe Club will keep a record of participants’ names and addresses and contact details on an EventBrite account accessible to those who need it in the Forth Canoe Club Committee. Your record may be inspected by contacting the Membership Secretary. By signing up to this event, you are agreeing for Forth Canoe Club to use your contact data in this way if necessary.
