Learn the Basics of Sewing!

Do you want to learn how to sew? Whether you’re a beginner or need a refresher, my Stitch up your wardrobe! is the perfect place to start!

What You’ll Learn:

  • Introduction to sewing machines: how to thread, operate, and get confidence at sewing.
  • Essential tools and materials for sewing.
  • Basic hand and machine sewing stitches and seams.
  • Simple projects like shortening trousers, making tote bags, hats or basic garments.

What’s Included:

  • Step-by-step guidance from an experienced fashion designer and milliner.
  • Friendly space to create and learn alongside others.
  • Samples and ideas for restyling garments.
  • Fabric swaps to learn about the different materials to work with.
  • Hot drinks and snacks.

What do we need?

You will need to bring your sewing machine and sewing kit, ( scissors, pens, pins, ruler, thread, tape measure)

If I don't have a sewing machine can I attend the class?

Yes, you are welcome to come and I will show you different hand-sewing stitches to make your project.

Do I need fabrics?

If you have a project and the fabrics to work on, you can bring them. For the first class, I will provide offcuts to practise with your sewing machine and hand-sewing stitches.
