Yes! All countries and currencies work on Eventbrite.co.uk – our account was created on Eventbrite UK, which is why all of our events are on the .co.uk subdomain.

Is this an official [book / film / game / TV show / public figure] workshop?

Accepted Answer

No. Poetry Orchard is in no way associated with any book, film, game, TV show, or public figure.  All rights belong to the original owner. This is an event hosted to celebrate related materials in fair use for educational and transformative purposes. Where possible, sources are always provided.

Question 3

Who can participate? Do I have to be a poet to join?

Accepted Answer

No, you don’t have to be a poet to join. We welcome people from all backgrounds, even those who do not read or write poetry!  Our programming centres poetry, but we have enjoyed fiction, illustrations, and original music inspired by our workshops. You might even make a new friend!

What are workshop registrants required to do?

Other than showing up as your authentic self, nothing!

You’re welcome to register just for the materials and opt out of the live session.

If you do attend the live session, video and microphone are not required – most attendees engage by typing in chat!

How long are sign ups open?

I can only make part of the live session, should I still come?

Accepted Answer

Yes, please do! You do not have to be here from the start or sit through the entire session. The metaphorical classroom door is always open; you will always be let into the room no matter where we are in the agenda and you are welcome to leave at any point, no explanation needed.

Confidentiality

Eventbrite requires ticket buyers to write a first name, last name, and email. Other than payment receipt, no other information about you is sent to us, and we do not store anything other than your email address so we can contact you if we reschedule the event, and to thank you for signing up.

Question 8

What Name Do I Use?

Accepted Answer

We respect your privacy. We do not require your legal name for any reason, so please write in whatever name you wish to be called, like your pen name or internet alias and that is what we will refer to you as.

Question 9

Will the workshop be recorded?

Accepted Answer

No, the live session will not be recorded. Workshop spaces exist in complete confidentiality; sharing materials, peers’ contributions, and screenshots/recordings of the session outside of the group is prohibited.

Question 10

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Accepted Answer

We reserve the right to reschedule live sessions. If >3 attendees join the live session within 15 minutes of the starting time, it may be rescheduled or canceled. If the facilitator is prevented from hosting, a supporting facilitator will step in. In the event they cannot, it will be rescheduled.

Question 11

What happens when an event is rescheduled?

In the event of a rescheduled live session, the Eventbrite and Google Meet will be updated to the new date and time and registrants will be notified via email from PoetryOrchard@Gmail.com with more details.

Refund policy

Accepted Answer

We do not offer refunds as you are paying for access to the space, including the workshop materials.
