About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Join widely published writers Carrie Etter and Ingrid Jendrzejewski in this free, online, co-working Zoom session dedicated to everything to do with getting your work in the world: sending to magazines; submitting to competitions; writing cover letters, synopses, and proposals; researching new markets, etc.

The format is simple: show up and work toward your individual publishing goals alongside other writers and editors. We'll have spoken check-ins on the hour, but will generally keep the session quiet for those who need to concentrate. However, all participants are welcome to use the chat features to ask questions, encourage each other, and share writing opportunities and resources. And if you'd like a little extrinsic motivation, there are also badges you can award yourself as you hit your individual submission goals.

Carrie and Ingrid will share information about magazines currently reading, open competitions, etc. in the chat as we go, and if you need to step away to take care of your cat/child/guinea pig/significant other, etc., just turn off your camera and come back when you're ready.

We'll be goal-setting and co-working, so you might want to prepare in advance. You may wish to:

  • Edit work to send out
  • Submit work to publications, contests, or other opportunities
  • Research submission opportunities
  • Write a cover letter
  • Bring questions for Carrie, Ingrid and the group about any of the above.

This is an all-inclusive, wholly supportive space open to writers of all backgrounds and orientations.
