About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

The Via Appia is the first Rome’s long distanced road linking eventually Rome and Brindisi in Southern Italy. To many tourists is a pleasant Sunday stroll on the outskirts of Rome amongst the remains of graves, villas and churches. But what made this road so important, what are the towns it connected and why?

This dayschool will look at the archaeology and history of this road.

Will I have to attend in person or will there be a recording?

Please note all lectures will be recorded and distributed to the participants at the beginning of the next week. This should allow participants from different time zones, or those working catching up with the lectures. The recordings will remain available until the middle of September 2025.

I can't see a buy button, how can I buy a ticket?

There is a known problem with some computers and Eventbrite for online events. If you are one of them, please contact us at mancent.courses@gmail.com so that we can issue PayPal invoices instead.
