What time does the race start on Sunday 2 February 2025?

The race starts at 10am for both the 5k and 10k, so arrive by 9-9:30am on the day.

What does entry include?

A free charity technical t-shirt/vest for training and race day, chip timing (in-person only), goodie bag (in-person only) and a finisher medals (virtual runners receive these in the post)

What is the race route?

Accepted Answer

The course is around Willen Lake in Milton Keynes. It is run entirely on tarmac and gravel paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. 1 lap for the 5k and 2 laps for the 10k. Route map available soon.

Question 4

Are pushchairs/prams allowed on the course?

Yes, the course is fully accessible and suitable for pushchairs/prams. We’ll even offer your little one a medal (no registration needed) subject to availability. Please register for your place & email us (fundraising@alcoholchange.org.uk) to let us know if you’ll be bringing a pushchair/pram.

Are dogs allowed on the course?

Yes, our four legged friends are more than welcome to take part their favourite human. Please be responsible when taking part so that your dog and other participants are safe. Register for your place & email us (fundraising@alcoholchange.org.uk) to let us know you’ll be taking part with your dog.

Do I have to complete my virtual Dry January® 5k or 10k on the same day as the in-person event?

Accepted Answer

No. We encourage you to virtually take part with the in-person event on the same day (Sunday 2 February 2025), but you’re more than welcome to complete it whenever is best for you.

Question 7

How do I submit my evidence once I have completed my virtual Dry January® 5k or 10k?

Accepted Answer

We operate an honesty based system and trust that you have completed your 5k or 10k. We always love to hear and see how your race went so you can let us know by emailing us (fundraising@alcoholchange.org.uk). We’ll send your medal to you in the post after the in-person event.

Is there parking on race day?

How will I receive my running number?

Running number collection is on race morning, they won't be posted out in advance.

Are wheelchair entries available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the course is fully accessible and suitable for wheelchair participants. Please register for your place and email us (fundraising@alcoholchange.org.uk) to let us know if you’re a wheelchair participant and if you have any requirements for us to consider to make your race day fully accessible.

Question 14

Can children (under 16’s) take part?

Under 16’s are allowed to take part. They can run for free with an adult participant and don’t need to register. As they’re not registered they won't have a number, but can still get a medal subject to availability.

Question 15

What is the cut off time for the race?

Accepted Answer

We expect the final runner to finish in 2hrs 45mins so this would be 12:45pm on the day. However, we would still be there to encourage anyone to the finish line after this if people are still completing the course.

Question 16

What facilities will be at the event village?

Accepted Answer

Race marquee, toilets, coffee shop and first aid.

Question 17

What marshalling and first aid provision will there be?

Accepted Answer

Marshals will be placed around the route for encouragement and safety. First Aid will be stationed in the event village, if participants need medical attention please ask a marshal for assistance.
