After a brief introduction, you will hear how the Arboretum came into being in 1937 and was acquired by the National Trust in 1952. We will then talk about ten of its most interesting trees and their scientific and cultural importance; its lakes running through the valley; its seasonal wildflowers; its flowering trees and shrubs; its variations through the seasons; the legacy of its creator and finally an brief overview of the Arboretum, past, present and future.

- The event starts at 2.30pm.
- The event is suitable for adults.
- A donation is required for each ticket purchased. Minimum donation £1 per ticket.
- Booking is essential, so be quick to avoid disappointment.
- Free refreshments of tea/ coffee and biscuits will be served from 2pm.
- Please at least 10 minutes before the talk is due start.
