Mark, Luke, John and Paul all give their own accounts of that first Easter Day. By writing a historical novel, 'Jesus the Troubleemaker', Andy found a solution which actually makes sense. It rests on one simple question, 'Where was Peter?'

Come and hear, discuss and challenge!

We'll meet in the small chapel of the Resurrestion on the right hand side of the church.

From 6.00 pm there will be Palestinian refreshments available free: fruit punch, bread, olive oil and za'atar. And at the end as well.

The book 'Jesus the Troublemaker' will be available, with and without photos.

Andy studied history at Oxford, so he looks at the Bible through a histoirans eyes. Mark's gospel is his gold standard. What surprised him was how much he learnt through writing a historical novel about Holy Week, i.e. Jesus' last few days on earth. Writing fiction, you have to be precise about your sources and about location, timing and character. He learnt more than he did during his time at University or in parishes.

The book 'Jesus the Troublemaker' will be available, with and without photos.

Andy has visited Jeruslaem seven times. One of his go-to places is the model of 1st century Jerusalem in the Israel Museum. You can traace Jesus' movemnts as he went in and out of the city.

And a very special place is the Calvary Chapel and Empty Tomb in the Church of the Holy Seplchre/Church of the Resurrection, which goes back 1700 years!

Since retiring he has written nine books, including Bible in Brief, Discovering Psalms as Prayer, and Daily Prayers from tth World's Faiths. His latest, 'The Church has a past - has it got a Future?' will be launched at St Mary Abbot's on 7th July 2025.
