About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us for an online talk by Crane Watch volunteer David Cohen about the return of common cranes to breed at our Willow Tree Fen nature reserve after an absence of 400 years.

During lockdown in 2020, common cranes returned to breed in the Lincolnshire Fens after an absence of four hundred years. This talk traces the history of cranes in the UK and their return to Willow Tree Fen, a reserve owned and managed by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. Situated in south Lincolnshire, this reserve is home to a wide range of wildlife, throughout the year, which will be featured in this illustrated talk.

Our wonderful Willow Tree Fen Crane Watch volunteers help visitors to see and identify the wealth of wildlife from the reserve car park/viewing area throughout the nesting season from 9am until dusk daily.

This is a free event. You will be emailed with a zoom link to the online talk nearer the event date.
