About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

From historic Tintern Abbey we walk in the spirit of pilgrimage to explore this lovely part of the Wye Valley. The walk is circular and at six miles is of medium length with moderate terrain involving some rocky sections which can be slippery underfoot if it's wet. Along the way we shall walk bits of Offa’s Dyke, visit the lovely, whitewashed Moravian Chapel on the banks of the Wye at Brockweir and have lunch in an enchanting hollow with an ancient tree at its centre. Frost, wind and rain have eroded the lighter ground around the Yew tree over many years, leaving the tree alone and supported by a pile of boulders, with roots protruding between strata - an amazing sight! There is no charge. Dogs are welcome.

Please bring a packed lunch.
