Our Trust and Foundations Fundraising Training Course will equip you with the techniques and practices to increase your organisation’s income through Trusts and Foundations. From researching the Trusts and Foundations whose criteria and outcomes align with your organisation’s aims and objectives and writing a structured and compelling proposal to navigate through the reporting process.
This course will give you access to our Fundraising expert’s extensive knowledge and advice. During the course, you will receive practical support and have access to the expert’s insights that will improve your confidence as a fundraiser.
IS THIS FOR ME?
This course is designed both as a follow-up course for those Bid Writing for Charities and Community Groups Training Course attendees who would like to deepen their knowledge about Trusts and Foundations Fundraising and as a stand-alone course for people with a minimum level of experience in fundraising.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our Trust and Foundations Fundraising Training Course offers a comprehensive overview of the grant funding process through Trusts and Foundations so that you will go away from the course with a clear picture of the task of Trust and Foundations Fundraising. You will: Learn what are Trusts and Foundations and what to expect from them (Types, success rates, approaches, etc.)
- Discover the methodology to create your organisation’s Trust proposal and obtain expert feedback
- Understand how to research suitable Trusts and Foundations through alternative databases.
- Learn how to create and manage a Trust and Foundations pipeline document.
- Explore how to manage your relationship with the Trust or Foundation (Reporting process, communication, etc.)
- Receive tips and advice from our fundraising expert.
Our Trust and Foundations Fundraising Training Course is delivered in two 2-hour sessions, leaving some time in between to read further course material, create your own Trust proposal and reflect on the information given.

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Hayley Gullen has 13 years of experience as a fundraiser and bid writer, of which 10 have been in the voluntary sector for well-known charities including Tommy’s (medical research) and St Mungo’s (homelessness). Under her leadership, the St Mungo’s trusts team income exceeded £1 million for the first time, and more recently her work at Tommy’s has enabled the trusts and major gifts team to enjoy major growth.
Hayley has significant experience in managing and developing relationships with trusts and foundations. She has worked with “big names” including Garfield Weston Foundation, City Bridge Trust and The Wellcome Trust, as well as a host of small and medium-sized foundations.
Hayley is an Associate of the charity and fundraising consultancy 3rd Sector Mission Control. She is also a Member of the Institute of Fundraising and served on the IoF’s Expert Advisory Panel for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion during 2018 and 2019.
