Step Into Someone Else’s Shoes: Coffee Morning & Dementia Experience

Join us for a friendly and informative Coffee Morning at the Independent Living Centre. Whether you're popping in for a cuppa, curious to see what we do, or interested in making new community connections, this is a great chance to explore our centre and meet local organisations (information stands to be announced soon!).
The highlight of the day? We’re thrilled to welcome the Virtual Dementia Tour Bus – a powerful, immersive experience that helps you understand what it might be like to live with dementia. It’s eye-opening, moving, and something you won’t forget.
🔸 Mini tours run every 15 minutes throughout the morning, with up to 3 people per session. Please select your preferred time slot when booking, and arrive promptly to make the most of the experience.
We’ve worked hard to bring this to our community – hiring the tour for a day costs over £1,200 which we've had to fundraise for. We’ve kept the ticket price to just £5 to reduce no-shows, but if this is a barrier, please get in touch – we don’t want anyone to miss out.
Please note: The Virtual Dementia Tour is not suitable for children. The minimum age for participation is 18, or 16 if accompanied by an adult.
Children are very welcome at the coffee morning itself, but please be aware that they cannot be left unsupervised at the centre while you take part in the experience. If you're attending with children, please ensure another adult is available to look after them during your booked session.
Exclusive Afternoon Session: Dementia Training for Professionals
1:30pm – 4:30pm | Limited Spaces
In the afternoon, we’re offering a deeper dive with the full Virtual Dementia Tour Training – a 3-hour session specifically for Wiltshire Health & Social Care Professionals.
This isn’t your typical training – it’s immersive, hands-on, and it leaves a lasting impression. To preserve the quality of the session, late arrivals or early leavers aren’t permitted – so make sure you can stay for the full experience before booking.
Normally £60 per person, this training is completely free for NHS and Wiltshire Council staff – but places are limited. Please only book if you’re certain you can attend.
Booking requires a work email address (@nhs.net or @wiltshire.gov.uk). Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a £30 fee charged to your organisation.
