Walk/Write Newtown Nature Reserve

Take a walk around Newtown estuary. Discover a lost town and a wild salt-marsh in the company of voices from the past. Inspired, return to the Black Cabin for a creative writing workshop.

Today’s walk falls into two parts. Wander around the nature reserve with Professor Nicola Watson (The Open University) who will bring four centuries of writing about the estuary to life. Then return to the Black Cabin for an inspirational writing workshop built round new fiction written especially for the event by award-winning writer Dr Ed Hogan (OU). Equally suitable for experienced and inexperienced writers. Bring a camera, some paper and a pen; tea and coffee will be available.
