Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is thrilled to host the "We Are GLOBAL Women🌍" Conference on Tuesday, 17th June 2025, 9:30am – 4:45pm, with a Drinks Reception until 6:30pm, at our Cambridge Campus – SCI 105 Lecture Theatre and Atrium.

This inspiring celebration of achievement and innovation will bring together trailblazers, thought leaders, and advocates to showcase ground-breaking work in research, business, and beyond. By uniting visionaries across disciplines, the event aims to highlight ARU’s diverse contributions, foster collaboration, and drive impactful change globally, as well as demonstrating how truly Global ARU and the community we serve are.

Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 'We Are GLOBAL Women' conference embodies ARU's commitment to fostering innovation, inclusion, and global collaboration. By spotlighting impactful research, transformative projects, and groundbreaking initiatives, the event contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Together, we aim to inspire action that advances a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future for all.

At We Are GLOBAL Women🌍, we recognize that research and innovation are not only crucial to education but also fundamental to shaping a more sustainable and equitable future. That’s why we are proud to align with Connecting Worlds, an initiative designed to showcase the world-leading, high-impact research taking place at ARU. This initiative highlights the transformative power of knowledge—something we champion within the We Are GLOBAL Women network.

Through Connecting Worlds, we are amplifying the voices of researchers whose work drives real change, much like We Are GLOBAL Women does by spotlighting leaders, innovators, and changemakers across sectors. By embedding sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation into everything we do—whether in education, leadership, or industry—we are ensuring that research doesn’t stay in universities but reaches the communities and industries where it is needed most.

As we prepare for the inaugural We Are GLOBAL Women Conference, we look forward to featuring stories of impact, including those emerging from Connecting Worlds, Earth Month initiatives, and ARU’s commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Together, these platforms provide an interconnected space for thought leadership, collaboration, and the pursuit of meaningful change

Publication Highlights:

As part of the lead-up to the We Are GLOBAL Women🌍 Conference, we will be producing a publication via The Academic Woman that highlights both internal and external speakers featured at the event. In addition to spotlighting the speakers, the publication will also provide recognition to colleagues who are not directly involved in the conference, showcasing the broader contributions of the ARU community. This could also include students and showcasing their work and involvement in related themes.
