Trek the 96 mile West Highland Way - Milngavie, to Fort William, Scottish Highlands

Are you ready to challenge yourself and trek the West Highland Way, covering 96 miles of stunning Scottish landscapes in just 4 days?

This is an arduous challenge and not for everybody. You'll be averaging nearly a marathons distance a day, a good level of fitness and desire to push yourself will be required

With that said, our support team will be staffing checkpoints along the entire route, with first aid stations and drinks/snacks available

At the end of each day, a designated campsite with warm showers and drying facilites will provide the location to rest and recover before the next day

The challenge begins at Milngavie, Glasgow. Over the course of 4 days you will traverse rugged mountains, tranquil lochs, and picturesque glens, immersed in the natural beauty of the Highlands.

From the starting point in Milngavie to the final destination in Fort William, this trek will test your endurance and both physical and mental stamina, are you up for the challenge?

Whats the challenge?

An endurance trek along the West Highlands Way from Milngavie, Glasgow to Fort William over 4 days

What is Endurance Trekking? Participants aim to trek long distances whilst carrying all the equipment you will need to sustain yourself for 24hrs* Inc tent, sleeping bag, clothes and food. All treks are fully supported by the Endurotrek team with regular check points and pre designated campsites with amenities at the end of each days eventing.

*There are 3 entry categories

1. Enjoy (no minimum weight/ carrying clothing/water/food with baggage transfer for additional equipment)

2. Endeavour - 10kg minimum weight + food & water (Participants will carry a minimum weight of 10kg + Food and water)

3.Endure - 15kg minimum weight + food & water (Participants will carry a minimum weight of 15kg + Food and water)

Is it a race?

The West Highland way multi-day event, is a challenge. There is no official winner, the completion of the challenge in itself is the win

Do I have to carry my equipment/backpack?

Equipment carrying is optional. Alternatively you can use our baggage transfer service and have your equipment i.e tent, sleeping bag, additional clothing transported to the next campsite each day

Is the route sign-posted?

The West Highland Way is a national trail (One of 16 across the UK). It is way-marked and sign posted throughout. Additionally you will pass through checkpoints and our team will be at designated places along the route. (See route and daily finish points in the Agenda section)

Where will I stay?

Every evening will be spent at a campsite along the route, offering warm showers, washing facilities, toilets, food, refreshments and camping pitches

How will I be supported?

Our support team will be staffing checkpoints along the entire route, with first aid stations and drinks/snacks available at all checkpoints.

At the end of each day, a designated campsite will provide the location to rest and recover before the next days eventing

Will there be checkpoints?

Every 5-7 miles (Around 10k) there will be staffed checkpoints, offering medical care, light snacks and refreshments

How fit do I need to be?

A good level of walking fitness is required, you will need to be comfortable walking off road, over varied terrain for long distances and time.

What should I wear/ what equipment do I need?

Walking/Hiking boots, Day sack/Bergen, Tent, Sleeping bag, Waterproofs, Warm kit, Change of clothing, Warm hat and gloves
